Christmas is coming!

I have started to play with some Christmas card designs – not sure yet if I will get any printed – the cost of postage has really depressed the sending of cards, though I am sure we all like to receive them. Sadly, many family and friends have not been visited this year, and a Facebook post is just not the same as a hand written note…..

Could we include a neighbour who perhaps doesn’t have any family close by?

Can we make our tiny corner of the world feel more love this Christmas?

Getting organised

The Heritage centre, in the centre of Lytham is a focal point for local artists with regular exhibitions.

This is Sunday afternoon 13th September…

“Handing in day”

We have painted… framed…labelled and packed our pictures, and now our talented team of “hangers” are preparing the space ready for opening day

TUESDAY 15th SEPTEMBER

Our Autumn Exhibition at the Heritage Centre starts next Tuesday. Open Daily 10am to 4pm (closed Mondays)
From Tuesday 15th September to 4th October

Do come and see the wonderful artwork and chat to the artists.

Fairhaven Park

having watched the recent eclipse at Fairhaven Park in Lytham, I took some photos of our famous replica Spitfire

and as the strange light turned to dusk…..

I painted a quick card for my son’s birthday… and another for 1940’s weekend 15/8/26 which quickly sold…

So I have painted this with a view to having a few printed for next summer’s 1940’s event

it was odd being “buzzed” by replica spitfire and hurricane planes while elegant ladies and dapper gentlemen strolled our streets. Quite an event for Lytham St Anne’s !

Notebook completed

my workspace – well used, here are a few photos of my A6 Notebook-

Gadgets used today
waxed my painting for protection
variety of papers used as pages
my new business cards!

More fun to use than shop bought….

will use to record details of my new paintings… ..

eg paper, colours used and sale price!!

…in a neat pocket at the back

First blog post!

Had the kitchen to myself today, so good opportunity to make a mess with paper, tea, coffee and lots of water

Sheets ready to make into pages in some small notebooks….

I have bought some Dorlands wax to experiment, using old paintings to cut up into cards, bookmarks, book covers

not sure how they will turn out!
